Well if something does happen to your camera when you are away there isn’t too much you can do about it unless you have camera insurance and even so there proposes a problem, you are not likely to be able to actually get a replacement whilst you are on holiday.
The best advice is to go out and buy a cheap camera from somewhere and just insert the SD card into it, and then when you get back you can actually contact the insurance company and get your camera replaced. Most companies will not give you the money back from the camera that you would have bought out there but it can really help when it comes to taking pictures on your holiday.
